spring 2012 venue sponsor: thanksgiving point

Today we continue posts about our spring sponsors, this year we are thrilled that Thanksgiving point graciously jumped on board to host our spring event in their lovely garden room and during tulip time no less! This delightful venue has a lot to offer a would be bride and the industry, a little about this venue to go a long way ...

The most common expression we hear at Thanksgiving Point from brides and vendors alike is, “I had no idea…!” For example, “I had no idea this was out here!” or “I had no idea you did all of that!” Though we love hearing everyone’s reaction as they fall in love with our event spaces, food, and flowers; however, we can’t stand keeping it all a secret any longer. Thanksgiving Point offers a full range of options to plan the perfect event.

Thanksgiving Point is famous for our gardens. The Thanksgiving Point Gardens is our crown jewel – 55 acres of beautifully manicured gardens with unlimited possibilities. The Loggia and Hidden Falls are our most popular spaces for the summer. Located in the Water Tower Plaza, brides can have the garden wedding experience and an easily accessible location all in one.

In addition to our Gardens, Thanksgiving Point has a variety of indoor spaces to accommodate all sizes and styles. The Garden Room, the Rose Room, and the Great Room, are out most popular indoor wedding spaces.

Catering - Thanksgiving Point in-house catering is from scratch and prepared by our award winning Chefs. Brides can choose from our extensive menus or have a custom menu created especially for their event.

Floral and Décor Design - Our design team, headed by Linda Winnie, creates the perfect look to complement the space, the food, and the bride’s style. Though we are a little partial to our design team, we love working with other florists and designers and allow brides to choose who they prefer.

Full Service Coordination - Our wedding coordinators, Kathy & Ashley, are both seasoned veterans of the wedding industry. They can help brides with a wide range of needs: selecting the best event space, choosing their menus, ordering invitations, coordinating the event design & floral, picking the cake, renting lighting and tents, and hiring other vendors. We work closely with a number of wedding professionals and are always interested in meeting new ones to help us meet the needs of our brides. Though we are a full service facility, we love working with wedding planners and event designers.

Thanksgiving Point MissionThanksgiving Point Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit farm, garden, and museum complex that draws upon the natural world to cultivate transformative family learning. Private events and weddings at Thanksgiving Point help to fund our educational and community programs. When brides have their weddings with us, they can rest assured it was money well spent.

  1. Seems to be an amazing thanksgiving event. Last year, on thankgiving day, I arranged a dinner party with my family at one of the exotic Chicago venues booked through Eventup.com and decorated the venue with the help of a florist.
